Stoneware Teapot 600ml

This unglazed hidasuki-style teapot with a ash-salt patina was fired in my wood kiln. The patterns on the lid and body gives fluid effect to the piece.  Firing with a reduction atmosphere at very precise moments, give the piece its richness and distinct character

I take great care in making teapots, making sure that each of them pours well and that their lids fit as they should. Fired at high temperatures, they are vitrified and non-porous; however over time tea tannins will give them a patina, testifying to their regular use.

This teapot can be used to steep most types of loose-leaf tea because of its interior strainer. For sencha tea, however, it is recommended that an additional strainer be used.

Each piece reflects the unique character that wood firing alone can impart and is intended to become a cherished object for any tea lover.  The photographs presented here correspond to the one-of-a-kind piece you will receive.
