The firing of this tea cup was strongly marked by reduction, producing the black metallic tones visible at certain places on its surface.  The effects of the flame, leaving ash in its wake, are particularly rich in this piece and have created many nuanced tones, shading from green to blue and from vermillion to orange.  The cup, with its thin, delicate lip, is a pleasure to hold and will become an integral part of your tea-drinking experience.
