Shino-style glaze. Only four to six bowls featuring these spectacular, unpredictable effects can be produced in a single firing, as the specific area within the kiln required to achieve them is very limited. The vibrant orange glaze develops patches of coppery crystallization and deep, crackled gray areas, or transitions from gray to a matte purplish hue—a glaze that is rich and surprising.
This piece is perfectly suited for enjoying a cup of tea or an espresso. The cup, with its thin delicate lip, is a pleasure to hold and becomes an integral part of your tea-drinking experience.
Although fired at high temperatures, vitrified and non-porous, it will take on a patina from tea tannins over time, testifying to its regular use.
Each piece bears the unique imprint that only wood firing can bring, making it a treasured item for any tea lover. The photos shown are of the exact teacup you will receive.
